At first, you'll get to know me and will dive into the essentials of Procreate. We'll cover the preference menu, gesture controls, colors, brushes, and layers. You'll also learn to create custom brush stamps and explore blending modes. Finally, we'll wrap up with exporting your work to share your creations.

In this module, we’ll focus on essential sketching skills to build a strong foundation for your character designs. You’ll learn techniques for creating clean, fluid lines and practice gesture drawing to capture movement and energy. We’ll simplify complex features like hands and feet and explore key landmarks of the body to improve your proportions. Additionally, you’ll discover how to gather references effectively, use them without copying, and create a moodboard to inspire your work.

Here we’ll dive into the art of portrait drawing, focusing on both structure and detail. You’ll learn how to construct the head, draw eyes, noses, and mouths, and explore different face shapes. We’ll practice capturing the same face from various angles, improving your ability to maintain consistency in your designs. You’ll also work on drawing portraits from reference and take your skills further by learning techniques for rendering a polished, lifelike portrait.

This module focuses on capturing the unique traits of different age groups in your character designs. We’ll start with an introduction to the nuances of drawing various ages, from babies and children to teens, young adults, adults, and the elderly. You’ll learn how to adapt facial and body features for each age group and explore age transitions and body types to bring realism and variety to your characters.

This module dives into the art of conveying emotions and personality through your characters. We’ll begin with an introduction to expressions, followed by exploring how emotions manifest differently in kids. You’ll also learn how to use body language to enhance storytelling and master the skill of creating varied emotions on the same face.

Module 6 focuses on the essentials of designing captivating characters with hair, clothing, and accessories. You’ll learn how to draw hair with flow and texture, understand hair shapes, and master coloring techniques for both women’s and men’s hairstyles. From there, we’ll dive into drawing clothes, working with different fabrics, and adding accessories and props to bring your characters to life with style and detail.

Finally, you’ll bring your character design process to completion, starting with defining his core traits and story. We'll cover thumbnail sketching and concept development, helping you establish a strong visual foundation, followed by creating a moodboard. You’ll then refine your design with detailed sketching, learning the basics of color theory and how to choose the perfect palette. We’ll add textures and small details to give depth and richness to your character. The final step will focus on adjusting your design and optimizing your character for sharing on social media platforms.

Finally, we’ll focus on drawing the face from a side view — also known as the profile. It’s a different challenge than drawing the face from the front, but once you understand the structure, it becomes much easier (and fun!) to get it right.

Through a series of step-by-step videos, I’ll walk you through the key proportions and placements of the facial features in profile, including how to draw the forehead, nose, lips, and jawline in a way that looks natural and balanced. You’ll also learn how to draw the ear in the correct position and understand how the neck connects to the head from this angle.
