Laura Dumitriu

is a children’s book illustrator, digital artist, and educator specializing in character design. Her work focuses on creating inclusive, expressive characters inspired by real people, cultures, and everyday moments.

Originally from Romania, Laura transitioned fully into illustration in 2019, bringing together years of artistic exploration and a strong love for storytelling. Through her art, she aims to bring more representation, warmth, and vibrancy into visual narratives.

In her courses, Creative Characters Made Easy and Drawing Characters, the Laura Way, Laura guides students through her creative process, helping them learn how to see and think like an illustrator. By drawing alongside her, students develop confidence, sharpen their instincts, and build a clear, repeatable process for creating original characters.
